About Me
Ella J. McConville is a Liverpool born and raised photographer. Originally from Aigburth she has always had a passion for photography, adventure and the great outdoors.
To build her confidence as a photographer, Ella took to riding her bike around Liverpool taking portraits of strangers along the way. A real people person at heart, she discovered the joy of meeting new people and building connections with them during portrait sessions. From there her love of portrait photography grew.
Inspired by female portrait photographer, Rosie Matheson, Ella realised that she could do it too, driven by wanting to make both herself, her family and the great city of Liverpool proud.
Within Liverpool, a city full of so many creatives, Ella has found a constant stream of support from those around her, many of whom have given her opportunities that have helped her progress to where she is now.
In 2024 Ella was selected to be one of the Ant Clausen Fire It Up Fund award winners which she credits as having a massive impact upon her career. As well as being awarded funds to purchase a new camera to take her photography further, Ella was also given some fantastic opportunities along the way, one of them being to hold her own solo exhibition hosted by Bold Street Coffee.
The Fund aims to assist those who are passionate about pursuing a career in photography or film but either don’t know where to start; how to do it alone; need the tools of the trade; the experience and the contacts or all of above. Ella has seized the opportunity with both hands and the Fund is extremely proud to have been able to support her along the way.
Going forward, Ella continues to develop and build herself by constantly trying new things and putting herself out there, always with her camera in hand.
